VIVENDA LOUREIRO Algarve Portugal HOME PAGE   Vivenda Louriero is situated in the hamlet of Foupana, close to the local town of Moncarapacho in the municipality of Olháo, in the eastern Algarve. The area is four miles from the sea, built on the foot-hills. The house sits in three acres of almond, fig and olive orchards, accessed by a private driveway.The surrounding area is open fields and ideal for leisurely walks. The house which is of modern design and construction, comprises of a very large lounge and dining area, with English Satellite TV, a large dining-room suite, and two sofas, one of which can be converted into a double-size bed. Fully fitted kitchen with washing machine, fridge-freezer, microwave and conventional cooker, an abundance of cutlery, cooking utensils and cupboard space. Two large bedrooms, the first-floor room having a double bed, with en-suite facilities and a sunroof just across the landing.  The ground-floor bedroom (off the lounge) has twin beds, and a foldaway bed. The spacious bathroom and shower are in the adjacent room. The Patio is L-shaped and stretches around two sides of the villa, it is ideal for use at breakfast time, as it is only just outside the french-windows near both the kitchen and dining area. It has a set of six chairs, a table, and also has a built-in Barbecue!  The area that overlooks the pool, is a particular suntrap, especially during the cooler months. The Pool is 10 x 5 metres.  The shallow-end is just 3 ft. deep descending to 8 ft. at the deep-end.  The water remains a very constant 80°F. during most of the season, between May to September and is regularly maintained.  The pool area has four sun-loungers. Towels and linen are changed weekly, supplies of towels, for use around the pool are also provided. The villa enjoys all the benefits of modern equipment mentioned above, yet is set in a rural landscape with sea views, far from the hustle and heat of town-centres or holiday complexes.  The peace and privacy that these idyllic surroundings provide is the main reason that most visitors to our villa return each year.  The weather in the Algarve is good all-year-round with the summer months, from May to September, being in the 30-35°C range, and the winter is much like the British summer, with the exception of the evenings, which are much cooler. The villa is available to rent to parties of no more than four adults (plus small children, by arrangement), the rates and dates available are in the schedule elsewhere on this site. A car is necessary to get to and from the villa and can be easily arranged through us to be available at the villa or at the airport upon your arrival.  It takes around half-an-hour to drive into Spain - to the east, and a similar time - to the western Algarve by using the new IP1 motorway, access to which is about 2KM away. The Eastern Algarve is much more rural that the highly commercialised west and retains many aspects of traditional Portuguese life and traditions. There are many local places to eat, all of which are exceptionally good value, in comparison to the UK.  (A list of those that have been tried and recommended will be provided for you.)  There are many large supermarkets - on a par with those found at home - in all main towns.  The colourful markets takes place in alternating local towns every Sunday.
